Book  Club

Book Club in Lusk Community College is open to both Junior and Senior students. It allows students to engage with reading for enjoyment outside of the reading they do for academics. It is a great opportunity for students to share their reading interests with others and to hear more book ideas from their peers.
Some of the benefits of reading are:
  • improves brain connectivity.
  • increases your vocabulary and comprehension.
  • empowers you to empathize with other people.
  • aids in sleep readiness.
  • reduces stress.

Book Club meets once a month to discuss the books we have read in the previous month. Each month is given a theme for a focus. Students have responded really well to this style of Book Club. It allows students to choose books within that theme they are genuinely interested in reading.
During Book Club meetings everyone is given the chance to speak about the book that they have read. They speak about the characters, plot, key scenes and their review out of 10.
Any student who is interested in joining Book Club can speak to Miss Blanche or email [email protected].
