LCVP

The Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) is an intervention designed to enhance the vocational dimension of the Leaving Certificate (established). It is a 2 year programme that has a huge focus on self-directed learning, innovation and enterprise.

The Link modules focus on Participation in the Workplace and Enterprise Education. Students develop key skills such as team work, communication and ICT skills. Students have the opportunity to go on work placement and experience the working world in reality.

Students complete a portfolio which is 60% of their overall mark for their Leaving Cert. It consists of various elements such as a Career Investigation, CV and a Diary of Work Experience. Students complete a written exam (40%) in May of their Leaving Cert year on the material that they have learnt in the course.
There are specialist groupings that allow students qualify to complete the LCVP exam which include a modern foreign language. All 5th year students partake in LCVP as part of their guidance hours in 5th year to develop various learning skills.

Points awarded for LCVP are:
Grade Universities and Institutes of Technology Award

Revised points 2017 onwards

Distinction    66 points
Merit             46 points
Pass               28 points
